Tinkture - Dirty Rose Martini
The ultimate in sophisticated simplicity.
Perhaps Antoine de Saint-Exupery said it best “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
There is no finer expression of this in a cocktail than a good Martini. Vermouth and Gin. Classic, elegant, perfect! And our Dirty Rose Martini is simply sublime.
Guided by friends Andy and Lyndsey Appleton, creators of restaurant and bar Appleton's in Fowey, to give you the most sophisticated Martini in the world.
The perfect combination of Rose Gin by Tinkture and Antica Distilleria Quaglia Vermouth Berto Bianco.
The natural sweetness from the vermouth and the floral oils from the Rose gin make this Martini dangerously, deliciously drinkable.
We slide more towards the ‘wet’ (perceptible vermouth) than ‘dry’ (little to no vermouth), however the delicate yet robust flavour of the Rose Gin still shines through, meaning those of you who love the classic drier martini will still rejoice when this Lady hits your lips.
Either STIR in a glass of ice and strain, or add ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice, give her a short SHAKE till the outside of the shaker is cold and strain into a chilled coupe or Nick and Nora glass. - Stirring over ice will keep it stronger whilst shaking in a shaker will potentially chill and dilute it more.
Garnish with a twist of grapefruit peel if you want to bring our her fruity side, or add a salty olive if you think she’s better dirty and if you want to get really dirty add a splash of the olive brine… oooh, now we are dancing!
