Bruichladdich used a parcel of Concerto barley grown in 2012 by seven growers on the island for its Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2013. Before bottling, three-quarters of the spirit was aged in American whiskey barrels and the other quarter in first-fill Pessac-Léognan wine casks (Bordeaux might be red or white). The whiskey has been aged for eight years.
